Off Season Lets Talk Guns, Part 2

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

But but but its black and scary. This makes it a military assault rifle capable of rendering the planet uninhabitable.

Glad this thread got bumped.

Recently a video by DemolitionRanch popped up in my YouTube feed. This guy cracks me up - he reminds me of Kelso from That 70's Show, only with guns! He has several videos. Dude seems a little off, but he's fun.

Anyway, this is about a kick ass air rifle. I had no idea they made things like this. Enjoy.

1911 guys...need some help, I'm in the market....but so may choices. Ideally I'd like to keep it under $1K and in an Officer or Commander model.

I have been looking at RIA, Remington and Ruger. Kimber is out of the question...anyone have any experience with any of the brands above?

Both my 1911s are Sigs. Love 'em. Never had an issue with either one. The C3 was under $900, the STP around $1,100. Buds has both for around those prices.

Why is Kimber out of the question?

I have a Pro Carry 2 that was under 1k.

The C3 is commander sized - 4" barrel, 7+1. Perfect carry gun size. The STX is full sized.

Only knock on the C3 is the slide is a bit thicker than a standard commander 1911, so if you plan to use a kydex holster you need to make sure you get one specific to the model. IIRC I got my Holster from Garrett Industries.

Another one you might consider if you're looking for a 1911 chambered in 9mm is the Springfield EMP. One of my buddies has one and loves it. Goes for around $1,000. 3" barrel, 9+1 capacity. I've kicked around getting one for a long time, but no more guns this year was my trade off for going to the AFC Championship Game.

A buddy who is DPD told me about the feud between Kimber and DPD over broken pistol parts and +P ammo, resulting in a policy ban of Kimbers for DPD. Additionally several other friends who work for various agencies across the state have told me about personal issues with Kimber customer support...just not worth the headache

Meh, I think a 1911 chambered in anything other than .45 is silly....I have always been a .40/9mm fanboy...I'm just falling in love with the .45
