*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

We were having a conversation in the car after the Pats loss.

Mahomes numbers are almost assured to go down simply because the defense will improve.

It's not that he won't be capable of throwing 50 TDs, he simply won't NEED to.

We'll have to settle for around 40 and tons of talking heads being idiots about his "decline."

Wouldn’t it be the other way around?

He should see the field more often if we’re stopping on 3rd downs. I don’t see him being the conservative type no matter the score. The guy has balls, he wants to face stomp every team.

Yes,

I doubt it will be, but somehow we didn’t set any defensive sucking record this year.

Could be still yes. That’s how Manning and Brady did it when they went for 50+ TDs.

It's a pretty good assumption that they will improve from their historically bad play this year. They can still be bad and improve.

Personally, I think the from 7 as a whole fits a 4-3 under better than Sutton's 3-4. An entire off season to fix the backside and this defense could jump to the middle of the pack.

Back to topic, I think Mahomes will have a great season but he won't come close to 50 if the defense improves like I think it will.

4500/40 and 10

I think with a better defense, the passing TD's and yardage may come down a little, and the rushing totals will go up. Against anything but elite offenses, we'll jump out to a big lead and then run the ball. Darrel Williams becomes the Terminator.

Am I only one who thinks even if defense improve Patrick could put up same stats?

It’s not like we played from behind a lot this year....

Think about it he had a couple of games with less than 2 TDs, I really think next year he could go for 50 TDs again. He can just make throws others can’t
