Knowmo didn't think we'd get a second.
Turns out we got a third and a young, elite corner. |

Well, yeah, that's been the point all along. The discussion shouldn't have been what Alex Smith is worth, it should've been what the most desperate team would give up for Alex Smith. For some reason, the Redskins panicked and went full reerun super ****ing early.

I said repeatedly that people who couldn't see value in Alex Smith were massively overestimating the intelligence of NFL GMs everywhere. Yeah, yeah, the Chiefs did the same thing in 2013, but guess why they had to pay so high a price back then? There was a market. It's not just the Redskins, either. SIX teams were reportedly coming to us with offers. All the GMs and teams from poorly run organizations are that way because of things like this. They're boring teams. Boring people. They have no creativity or ingenuity. One might argue that's why they became athletes in the first place. The NFL is full of them. Always has been. That's what I and many others tried to tell you, Kranz, and a bunch of pessimistic stupid Chiefs fans. |

I think KC got a really good deal. Some here were saying Two R2s, I figured it would be a late R2 and something. Overall, not bad at all and you get that cap space back.
I like it because it also (almost on its own) assures Denver will have a clear path to signing Cousins. Cousins is a top QB option, very consistent over the last couple of years. I'll take him for whatever the $ amount is and be happy for the next decade. Teams win with great QB play, we all know that. So, this is a good move in that direction. What in the world will all the Alex haters do now? |

a “clear path” to Cousins?
I’m sure teams like Jacksonville and Minnesota will have a lot to say about that. |

SIX. Six teams were reportedly gauging giving us compensation for Smith. Kirk Cousins completely free on the market is going to be a bloodbath of reeruned franchises fighting each other for the right to overpay him.

Cousins will go to Arizona. They’ve already publicly stated they want a veteran QB and iirc they don’t have a single QB under contract for 2018.
Better start talking yourselves into Sam Bradford. |

Whoever signs him, had better be prepared to make him the highest paid player in the NFL and all the limitations on the rest of the roster that goes along with it. He's not worth that. |
