Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs
Well, it looks like the deal is done.
https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed Jay Glazer @JayGlazer 49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith Jay Glazer @JayGlazer Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith. |

It better not be our 34 pick. That would be completely stupid.

@AdamSchefter: Chiefs traded second-round pick, the second pick in the second round, to SF. Niners also got another conditional mid-round pick in 2014.

Honestly, I think it makes sense for the Chiefs. For a team like the Jaguars/Eagles/Cardinals I think it would have been disastrous because we need picks.
But the Chiefs are really only good coaching, a QB, and maybe one other piece away from competing for it all. I personally think Alex Smith is better than any QB that is going to be taken in the 2nd round draft. |
