50 Beers to Try Before You Die

Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).

http://www.wisdeo.com/articles/view_post/2984
(CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"?

How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

Had an Arrogant Bastard from Stone this week. First time I've had it on tap. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Just cracked the Hercules. I'm not even sure I'd give it the B that Reaper gave it.

It kind of tastes as if Boulevard's Rye-on-Rye and Lagunitas Sucks had a baby beer.

Drinkable, but meh. Guess I'm spoiled.

Yep, I'm spoiled. RateBeer gives Hoptimum a perfect score, I'm not sure I'd give it an 85.

Double meh, and $20 down the drain.

Sticking to Two Hearted until Sucks is available again.

Either my sarcasm meter needs batteries, or you're taking things a bit too literal.

They are certainly drinkable, I'm just spoiled.

I'm also kinda pissy that Two Hearted is readily available while Sucks is not - along with my local favorite, Art of Neurosis from 2nd Shift.

I think I'd reverse Reaper's grades. I'd give Hoptimum a B or B- and Hercules a C or C-.

If the Hercules was a few months old it'd be way worse than a B.

They are both big ol double IPAs. I think around 10% for the Hoptimum and above 9% for the Hercules.

EDIT: Found it. Terra Incognita. Anyone tried it?
I had 2 bottles. I don't think I'll buy it again next year. It wasn't bad but paying $14 for a limited release that is just "okay" isn't for me. I'd rather pay $7 for all of their other Smokestacks at Costco.

I think the Hoptimum is overrated. Haven't had the Hercules. But Hopslam is something to which you should look forward. Quality, quality beverage there.

I read BBQ is out in "mid-Sptember"... beer store guy had no idea, but if you guys hear specifics, please post. I have people in other states on hold.

Just opened a Rogue chocolate, banana, peanut butter ale... should be interesting.

Stone Enjoy by 9.13.13 IPA. Fantastic.
Also picked up yet another bottle of Saison Brett 2013, and a six pack of Schlafly pumpkin ale.

Have you tried the pumpkin ale yet? There's something different about it this year... IMO, not in a good way. It's been my favorite pumpkin ale for a few years, but it kind of sucks this year.

I bought a bottle of Rogue pumpkin patch ale the other day and it was very tasty.

Hoptimum was a heck of a lot better last year. Hopslam is hop manna straight from heaven.
