****Our Wide Receivers Suck- Official Thread****

They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Chiefs receiver stats extrapolated over 17 games:

McKinnon 300 yards
Pacheco 266 yards
Edwards-Helaire 147 yards

Watson 895 yards
Moore 635 yards
Rice 612 yards
Valdez-Scantling 555 yards
Toney 280 yards
James 48 yards
Ross 34 yards

Kelce 760 yards
Gray 442 yards
Bell 68 yards

I extrapolated Kelce, Toney, and James for how they've performed in the 2 games they've been healthy for, rather than for the team's entire 3 games.

5,043 yards receiving total.

He's going to a YAC monster.
Just looks more and more like Watkins to me every game.

Damn that 1 foot marker - guy was a yard combined from 2 touchdowns yesterday. And the overturn on the first one sure looked ticky tack to me. You could see that however you wanted to see that, IMO.

RR is poised to break out soon. If he gets the couple of concentration drops under control the elements he add is going to make the offense roll again.

That seems like a good comparison. I think Watkins had surer hands, but rashee will have more athleticism going up for balls. But both just have a real good understanding of routes and where to be. Even if the short stuff looks unremarkable rashee does a lot to sit down right where he needs to to give him the space to run. It makes his first mistake very forgivable. For as young as he is he seems really far along in terms of feel for the position.

Eh - some of these are technique drops and those are harder to fix on the fly.

In time I think he'll get there but I think this year we're gonna keep seeing one of these most games where he just doesn't attack the ball correctly. That's not concentration - he just didn't have the right catch technique.

It's an issue but not a fatal one.

Yeah, not sure what the point is if you're only going to show up when times are rough. That's pretty ****ing lame. Sure, vent and carry on calling each other reeruns or whatever the **** when shits going sideways, that's a CP past time, but if that's all you're here to do probably better off just not showing up.

Someone is going to need to develop into a consistent weapon, against the Bears it doesn't matter against the better teams it will.

Maybe because I didn't even get a chance to watch the game yesterday because I was busy?

Not much to say. Moore and Rice looked pretty good. It was against bottom feeder competition, but at least they performed as expected and can hopefully grow from this week and in the coming schedule against some piss poor competition. Not much more to say other than my current angst is against the NFL and their campaign against Taylor almost getting Mahomes injured.

Not sure we learned anything yesterday, it was a glorified preseason game.

You can still identify traits.

So from that standpoint, I think we got another datapoint establishing that Rice can/should be a very nice YAC player. He was powerful at/through the catch point and I think that translates against any level of competition.

The Moore catch was him settling into a zone and Mahomes finding him - that's a nice development as well because that wasn't just busted coverage. That play it appeared the Bears passed off coverage well, Moore and Mahomes were just on the same page.

There was a little to take away from individual plays/performances.

Writ large, though, yeah - it's not easy to get much from a game like this. We could've just shown up with a pre-season game plan and physically dominated them en route to a 14+ point win if we wanted to go that route.

Hell, if Andy had a bet that he could've won that game on field goals and defense, we'd have won it 9-0.

The game was just never in question at all.

So you've been too busy for the last 24 hours or so to post anything about the game but I say Beetlejuice, and you pop right up?
