Nothing to get heated over, friend. Just asking.

Ideally, you get into a matchup specific situation on snaps, but IMO, more ideally, someone takes the bull by the horns and just becomes matchup proof.

Probably need to talk to Pat for that to happen then.

They used Skyy for that matchup and it got a TD. Was a bit surprised to see him in the red zone but hey it worked beautifully.

I'm probably not the guy to talk to about "WR depth".

Give me 3 maybe 4 guys, and go play. The others....I don't give a shit about.

Sky is a good solid WR. Again, I don't really get the hate. Throw the guy the ball, he gets open.

KT's snaps are only going to go up - so my concern is that the only way Rice's snaps increase is with another injury. It's the only reason Moore's increased last year - Hardman getting hurt.

It's possible you're right.

However, Andy specifically said that Rice/Ross would begin by playing in just package plays, then as they became more comfortable in the system, they'd see more time in the regular offense. haven't seen anything (in just two games) that tells me he's deviating from that plan.

So, if Rice (or Ross, whichever) shows more flashes, basically becomes more comfortable in those packages, he should get more snaps in the regular offense.

And KT should get a lot more snaps over the next few weeks, because he was the anointed 'WR1' before getting injured in preseason. I'd guess Rice will get more snaps at someone else's expense as the season goes along. Maybe Ross. Maybe Skyy. Whoever.

Unless, Toney gets hurt, of course.

I mean, this is the grand experiment. These are the guys we have in the WR room for 2023, barring catastrophic injury to MVS, or KT or I guess Travis.

Am I missing something here?
Im advocating that MVS is a top 3 WR on this team right now.

And i'm illustrating that Watson has a niche that maybe the other guys don't have right now, hence why he's getting the snaps that he gets.

Those are two separate arguments though.

And yes, if they give their top 3 guys, whomever that may be (and im not stating it has to be Watson) the most significant reps, that should help build chemistry and timing.

But they need to figure that out NOW, as in the 1st quarter of the season.

Hell, maybe that's exactly what they're doing and as the season progresses we'll stop seeing so many sub packages.

As far as the other 3 rarely seeing the field....i don't care. Yes, the other 3 can ride the bench until an injury is had or they show enough improvement in practice and so forth to actually beat out the guys ahead of them. As it's always been in sports.

Hell, even if they wanted to play all 7 WR's every game, can we at least do it in a way that doesn't have them rotating in and out almost every play?

It's just too much swapping of bodies too frequently.

Why do we need Justyn Ross running a dig route instead of Rashee Rice? Rashee Rice comes in to run a slant and then we pull him the next play so Ross can come in and run a dig? Why can't Rice just run the dig route too?

It makes no sense. Just play the best guys consistently, whoever they are.

Agreed, you and a few others have made great points about the constant shuffling likely throwing Mahomes off his groove... he's chirping about it no doubt, so we'll probably see some changes there

I tend to agree.

Just guessing, but I think Andy is trying (maybe too hard?) to get everyone involved.

What we have seen is that you can't win SB's without having atleast a defense capable of getting stops and even then.....you're toeing the edge. As much as we all want the offense to just mow people down, it's a balance.

This year so far, the offense hasn't been near what it needs to be in January to win a Sb. Again, I don't think anyone would argue that. But they don't have to be that right now. There's time here, especially with the defense doing what it's doing.
Sorry not at all on the same page as you. WR depth beats Cincinnati 2 years ago. Our OL play vs Tampa wouldn’t win with any defense. At the end of games I want the ball in mahomes’ hands way more than I want the defense to make a final stop. It’s been the offense by a mile that is responsible for most of mahomes’ exits.

You keep saying “no one doesn’t want good players.” But by deprioritizing WR behind an entire defense and an entire OL, you are absolutely saying you’re willing to use lesser players at a specific position group.

No matter because again drafting guys like rashee is a great direction. I think most people seem to agree with that. But would you agree that many fans would have absolutely been fine making zero draft picks at WR if it meant drafting a pass rusher or OL?

The production overall is all that matters. The production needs to be replaced. Not shoehorning guys into someone else's shoes.

We should have learned this last season, where nobody replaced Tyreek, but the team overall was even more successful.

The go-to guys will emerge.
It isn’t irrelevant. You don’t think a safety valve would be hugely valuable to mahomes right now? You can’t have all your guys depend on manufacturing targets for them or be sporadic producers. Having a guy who can take on a big target share would help tremendously

You’re gonna have reps where guys don’t get open. When a lot of your WRs are sporadic producers that’s even more likely to happen. So what’s mahomes’ reaction? Either throw it to kelce in triple coverage or bail.

Juju isn’t impossible to replace but I don’t get the disrespect for his contribution to last years offense

I think they are still trying to figure that outbwhonthe best WRs on the team are and who Mahomes is the most comfortable with.

As the season goes on I'm sure certain WRs will have their snap count increase while others decrease significantly.

Give it some time.
