It doesn’t help that NFL offensive line play isn’t as good as it once was anymore. The development curve is much steeper.
The development curve is only steeper because of large reduction in full contact repetitions compared to the past. Under the new CBA and the rise in worry over concussions, the actual live repetitions these OLs get today compared to back then is a fraction of what it used to be.

People are also underestimating how bad Erving is.

Fisher and Schwartz had bad games, yes, but Erving is the real hunk of shit that will make us stupendously awful up front— I’m talking going right back to the days of the 2014 OL.

One gaping hole like Erving is all it takes to guarantee an awful line. With someone else in the LG spot, the OL at least has a chance of not being terrible

I don't see any way that Erving is the starting LG on opening day.

Mike McGlynn... yes, you may be right here.

I don’t see how Reid let’s him continue to be dogshit with proven, serviceable players behind him in Witzmann or Ehinger.

Has Watkins done anything to stand out at camp to warrant his stupid price tag? Not that camp means everything but Robinson has done plenty. Just asking for those that have gone.

I'd rather start McKenzie, a guy with no line experience than Cam.

At least McKenzie isn't a giant pussy.

During a two-minute situational period in which the team was down by two points at midfield without any timeouts left and less than 25 seconds left on the clock, Mahomes left the pocket and went rolling right when he fired back across his body about 20 yards down the field to the waiting arms of Tyreek Hill. The throw and catch put the Chiefs in field goal range.

What made the throw even more impressive—outside of the sheer physical capability needed to throw a dart from that angle with that much velocity—is that Hill had four defenders surrounding him. He had two in front to each side and two behind him—almost as if he was boxed in with a tiny lane to fit the ball through.

Mahomes completed the pass in a situation that would have given Harrison Butker a chance to win the game with the team down by two points.

I told you guys the coaches talk to each other before preseason games. I bet Andy asked Houston to blitz a lot.

All spread in college and less padded practices.

They should have LDT play LG and put Makenzie at RG. I think that matches skill sets better than the other way around

That kid is going to be a pretty good guard IMO.
