Old thread is archived here.
http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=185997 I have seen these in various threads, so I thought we should just put them all together. There are really funny pics out there. Last edited by DaFace; 01-10-2013 at 11:52 PM.. |

my initial thought was....no freaking WAY.
I was purty sure somebody put the snake in the position to open the door.....that they lifted him up there from the inside of the door. but I was curious. COULD a snake really be smart enough to open a door? welp....apparently so! http://www.livescience.com/37595-how...le-brains.html puzzle solving! creepy man! http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3033337/posts some quotes from the link above... To: RummyChick My old roommate’s 6’ Burmese Python could do the same and did so many times. They are smart enough to know the door is the way out of a room and they climb it inadvertently turning the knob. To: South40 so they do it with round knobs too? So you would say that this is not intentionally going for a handle but just sliding around on the door and it accidentally turns the knob? To: RummyChick Yes, they do it with knobs just as easily as with levers. The snake can sense the air coming from under and around the door and knows it’s best way of escaping the room is to get to the other side. Not finding a way under, they climb. My roommate’s snake would slither up the jamb, wrapping itself around the knob and in doing so it would turn releasing the door just as you see in this video. It was also very adept at escaping its cage so we never knew where it was in the house. My GF would never again enter the house once she learned of this. :-) |
