Should we either just pull guys off the scrap heap - again reclamation projects - or chronically look to overpay at the top of the market?

Veach is going to evolve and be fluid in these situations. He's not going to let his experience with MVS impact what he does in this free agency period just as he won't let his pick of Skyy Moore have any impact on how he attacks the receiver position in the draft. And god damnit I think that's plenty ****ing fine by me.

The chess board is complicated here. Let Veach ****ing work.
The reclamation projects are currently priced at the point where any upside is negligible and the downside is a decent chunk of wasted cap. That's the problem. You can thank the Jaguars for that reeruned shit happening, AGAIN.

Would I rather bring back James and Hardman, draft a rookie WR and still have money to sign 1-2 more players?

Or spend all of it on someone like Mooney.

Gimme those 3-4 players every single time.

I'm not saying he's slow. I just don't buy that he's faster because he ran a faster 40 several years ago. The eye test tells me different.

One early takeaway: Only two WRs signed with new teams today and both went to the #Jaguars: Gabriel Davis (3-yrs/$39M) and Devin Duvernay (2-yrs, $12.5M).

****ing sick of these idiots ballooning this shit.

except no, it's not.

The upside is still huge, and the downside is not as expensive as it was in a few years ago.

Mooney will cost half of what MVS was. Samuel probably about the same.

Brown probably about what MVS cost.

That's just what guys get paid. It is what it is.

What does it mean for the upside to be negligible?

Christian Kirk was 18mm/yr a couple years ago as a slot receiver. We're talking about half that to be a serviceable WR who can catch the ball from the best QB in the history of the NFL and give him confidence again.

That's not remotely "negligible."

Devin ****ing Duverney got more than 5 million AAV. All of those guys you mentioned are going to be hovering in the near 8 figures market.

Right.

Mooney is going to cost 8-10X what Mecole Hardman will.

Mooney may not outperform Mecole at all, and certainly won't by 8-10x.
