I think he was looking for Rice a little too much. There was one play against the Falcon where Kelce broke open immediately for what should’ve been a huge gain. Mahomes went to Rice for less yardage right away.

With Rice’s style of play and that workload, I always kinda felt like he wasn’t playing 16-17 games this season anyway.

Surprising how it happened, but felt somewhat inevitable.

Yes disadvantageous to the future. I have zero issues if they give up a lower pick for a WR but I am not for giving up a high pick in a trade.

Teams don’t want to negotiate with Veach before the draft, they are not going to be eager to trade with him now, especially if they reek of desperation.

They lost Rice and while it’s a big blow it’s not season ending for this team. This team can still win it all without being desperate. There was no guarantee KC was winning it all even had Rice stayed healthy.

Gotta keep in mind, too-

The team doesn't exist in a vacuum. Take a look around the league. Every team has issues. Nobody's just crushing people every week. Baltimore is crushing Buffalo, but we beat Baltimore.

We just need to tighten up and decrease mistakes. Get Worthy more involved each week. We're going to be okay.

I don't think GMs on losing teams give two shits if the Chiefs win or not. They just want to get value for the asset.

He was definitely locking in on him too much because he had established himself as his quick safety net when he doesn’t trust his line.

Was hoping Mahomes would ease out of that while still having Rice available to him, but alas.

Guess Kelce is just gonna have to have another 1000 yard season, and our rookie might too.

But we’ve also got a shot to have an old-fashioned, New England-esque winter ground game where Hunt and Pacheco just make it a real pain in the ass to even focus in on the passing game.

Would love for us to win another Super Bowl in a different way, once again.

Chiefs need to create cap space before they can do any possible trades.

at this point, I think Veach has proven his method of team building works.

There's a salary cap, and every year you have new pieces to figure it out with. And we've been lucky with injuries for a couple years, really.

We'd all love to see the 2018 offense paired with the 2023 defense - but it's not going to happen.

Each season, you figure it out on the fly, and you utilize what you have to win games- and in case you missed it, we've been really good at this.

It sucks that we lost WRs #1 and #2. It sucks.

There's no superhero waiting on the couch. They're going to have to figure it out again.

Worthy is already more advanced than Rice was at this point last year. You can build on that.

Rice was getting a lot of what are usually Kelce targets - we see that Kelce is still Kelce. Gray is pretty good. Watson makes a big play a game.

Hunt looks like his old self - that's a bonus. We can ride him and Perine until Pacheco gets back.

Just keep working, and hit the play when it's there and we'll be fine.

You act like they haven't addressed offensive player issues, and that's just flat bullshit.
No I did not say that. In fact I have complimented the hell out of the chiefs offseason and have said this year is just really bad luck. So nice try on me saying we haven’t addressed player issues.

You’ve been blowing rainbow farts at our WRs for 2 years now. Here’s what everybody else knows. Last year’s WRs were in fact terrible and it’s regressed mahomes. Maybe our WRs were good enough to un**** mahomes early on, but enough with the sugarcoating. We are going to be playing some really really bad WRs for the rest of the way. We are going to have several WRs on the field who wouldn’t even be rostered on a bad team.

We will be fine. But your sugarcoating how bad of a spot we put mahomes in does nothing but give license to dogpile on mahomes. The team will be fine. But mahomes right now is not. We are putting him in situations that are doing nothing but destroying his confidence. This time it’s not anyone’s fault really. But stop with the nonsense as if fixing mahomes isn’t both a priority and a concern right now.

I won't. I'm fully OK with being less good after Kelce and next year and beyond if it means we field the best possible team this year.

Correct Andy's 2015 team was pretty much in a must win every game from early October and did it with Alex Smith 2 undrafted running backs and without Justin Houston for a part of it.

This team is more talented than that with a one of the best QBs to ever play. I'm not worried but if Veach is able to swing something for say a 4th hard to see him not doing it
