I'm foregoing rifle season this year and getting back into muzzle-loaders. I've got a great Kodiak .58 caliber double barrel that I haven't used for years. It's an accurate bitch out to 100 yards. I'm just kinda bored with the same old shit nowadays.

Ya, very little blood trail but he tipped over ~25 yards away.
I probably shouldn't have taken the shot though. He got underneath me before I figured out which buck it was and I ended up having the bow stabilizer stuck through the cable that supported the cameraman stand's floor when I let it go. It could have ended very badly. |

Sorry about the sideways pic. I'm at my cabin and I'm just working off my phone. I'm very proud of that 8x7 though. Worked my ass off to get him and worked even harder afterwords. He was only 1/8 mile away from the road but almost 1,000 feet below it. I had to make 3 trips up and down the canyons to backpack him out.
Glad to do so. I haven't been in this kinda shape since I was 17. |

Oh ok. I was gonna say, that is ****ing insane. I'm a bit anal towards that type of thing. Don't mean to be at all but I've been chasing the monster atypical for 25 years now and it's all done in their natural settings.
I don't mean to be a Dick at all. |

Just got myself a new Big Game Treestand, had to replace the old one. I love ladder stands but needed a hang-on for moving it around. Been skunked so far this season. Had chances at does earlier in the season but passed on them hoping for a buck in the rut. Here in Iowa, early season BOW is about over and stupid shotgun hunters are about to take their trucks and deer slugs out and chase around the deer in the fields (****ing hate them dumb ****s).... Late BOW season will start up after shot gun.
