No idea. Just read somewhere the other day that they weren't interested in trading Diontae to us. Thought I read it here on CP. Maybe it was just a rumor.

If Veach could make the above happen, great. Not going to hold my breath though.
Pittsburgh refused to trade Johnson to KC in the offseason, but Carolina likely wouldn’t have that same hesitation.

Also Veach’s former salary cap guru, Brandt Tilis, is Carolina’s Executive VP of Football Operations… that could help facilitate a deal.

I would take MVS and add him to the PS. I would cut Moore outright and trade for Diontae Johnson if possible. I have heard Hyatt from the Giants could be an option as well. Personally, I like what we have currently and if nothing happens then I am cool with it. However, if we were to get D. Johnson on a good deal then that only works in our favor "currently." We don't know when Hollywood or Pacheco will be available this season if at all. In Veach I trust.

Very nervous.
Pfft. We will be picking 36 or 40.

Expansion teams.

As much as I'd like our Chiefs to make a big splashy trade for Tyreek or even Hopkins, seems to me we'd be just fine bringing MVS back and upgrading Ross. We're undefeated, currently, and assuming M. Brown returns for the playoffs we'll get a nice fresh addition for the final stretch. Hoping for more, but not like we're hurting too hard.

I’m not saying that will happen, but it is way more uncertain tomorrow than it is today.

I trust Andy to not let someone new screw it up. We’ve seen with guys like shady McCoy and leveon that if they don’t work, we aren’t going to use them. It’s all upside. There is such a low bar a sub has to clear. So while we may be fine without changing, if a move allows you to upgrade from a bad piece to a halfway decent one, is a small extra hurdle down the road all that bad? It’d be one thing if we’re talking about subbing average for great. We’re talking about replacing bad with “not bad.”

If they're comfortable with Juju and Worthy as their top two WRs the rest of 2024, that's fine. It's just too risky IMO. If teams want a 2nd rounder or better because it's the Chiefs, then Veach should say no.
I’m not arguing that they shouldn’t trade for a receiver, but more giving up multiple picks for someone like a Tyreek. The Adams and Cooper deals would have been fine.

Yeah, multiple picks would be pushing it.

Thats fair. Yeah we don’t need to go all in. We need to get someone within reason.

God I hope not. HB is the one position where we have depth. I get that the guy isn't a bit play waiting to happen but he's solid. He was a big part of why we lost to the Bangles that year.

You get one chance, if you're lucky, to win 3 straight super bowls. You absolutely go all in.

ESPN Suggests:

"Chiefs: D Hopkins
Titans: 5th RD Pick

Chiefs: M Sanders
Panthers: Conditional 6th RD Pick"

...I'm game for Hopkins, but happy with our RB squad.

Hopkins is old...they won't do that.

Johnson makes too much sense. It makes no sense why the Panthers wouldn't trade an impending FA in a year they're going no where, but bad teams stay bad for a reason.
