We signed MVS for a very specific purpose, and he did what was asked of him at a salary commensurate with other players who performed similarly. And then, when we needed him to step outside his box, he did with flying colors in the most important game *I* think this team has played in a long time.
Maybe they need to consider asking him to step outside that box again?

Or maybe, just maybe, they can allow younger players to step into that role and develop?

Comparative advantage, my friend. Guns and butter.

No problem with whatever role MVS has this year, perhaps a little less pleased with Watson’s role. However, I personally think the ideal scenario is the young guys step up enough that MVS becomes expendable by next year to save some money against the cap.

Is it too much to ask for him to do it half a dozen times in a season? I mean, we're paying him more than $956,000/catch. You'd think we could expect more than 2.5 catches/game.

Anyway, point I was trying to make is that it's the JJSS role that is missing and needs filling (as everyone says), if anything, and that I maintain that SHOULDN'T be an impossible dream.
I just think there are terms a few of you guys are too stuck on that really don't matter.

Juju's role- is irrelevant. The guy was here for one season. He carved himself out a role. No one guy must 'fill Juju's role'. Guys need to carve out their own roles, not fill some guy who's not here anymore.

The production overall is all that matters. The production needs to be replaced. Not shoehorning guys into someone else's shoes.

We should have learned this last season, where nobody replaced Tyreek, but the team overall was even more successful.

The go-to guys will emerge.

MVS can do more, AND you can give Rice more snaps and learn.

It's not a zero-sum game.

But giving MVS 90% of the offensive snaps for him to run clearout routes all day and get two targets isn't good for anyone.

Interesting thinking that someone should be getting snaps over a promising rookie simply because he had a great playoff game.

It doesn't matter, because as DJ pointed out, Andy is gonna Andy. It's a trust issue, and ironically he's not allowing Rice to gain trust because he won't put him on the field.
Here seems to be your issue.

I can only speak for myself, but...yeah, I'm ok with that?

As I mentioned above, that's fine too. He's effectively your WR1 with the snaps you're giving him.

So if you don't trust Rice to take those snaps, utilize MVS more than what you're currently doing - he's essentially a high paid decoy as they are using him now.

When in the last 5 years have we had a WR room that looked like this?

This is unprecedented territory.

JFC, here we go again.

This is the same WR room from last year minus JuJu and a guy that missed the majority of the season. This room easily has more young talent. Please stop pretending otherwise.
