I'd like to think the d and many young guys will look more together with Houston and berry making some adjustments. But mostly I hope they don't look like they did in preparation season game 1.

The most glaring thing I saw on defense is we didn't fix the pass rush problem. It's only one game, the first one at that, but I fear our secondary is going to get picked clean like roadside carrion if it doesn't get addressed.

Ford does one thing well, and he does it only one way. He has an outside speed pass rush. I hope Speaks can take the starting job, and Ford can come in on third downs to do his outside speed rush.

Is it just me or does it look like Speaks is playing too heavy? The way he carries his weight looks like he could greatly benefit from dropping 15-20 lbs. He could probably gain some explosiveness. Looks like too much of his 285 is being carried in his midsection.

James Harrison always played heavy, but he’s a freak of nature and absolute workout warrior.

I noticed in a closeup that Speaks actually has a gut on him, which may be okay for a defensive tackle, but it serves on purpose on an OLB. I hope they limit his barbecue.

He didn't, he did however abuse him in training camp practice today.

He has a bit of a pooch, but its not like its some swollen beer belly

Give the kid time to grow into himself, and some time in a legit pro strength program... too much is being made of it, IMHO
