Not a rumor: Ryan Lilja may be returning to KC
EDIT: No longer a rumor. The Chiefs have reportedly reached out to Lilja.
We're three deep at guard, however. If this is true, I think this portends ugly things for Rodney Hudson's recovery. I think the Chiefs may be angling for a patch at center. http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2013/4...-of-ryan-lilja The Return of Ryan Lilja? posted by The Gentry Apr 06, 2013 I've never had inside information before, but today I do. It's weird - and it was from out of the blue today - but I have it on good authority that Ryan Lilja is negotiating with the Chiefs to return for the 2013 season. That isn't to say that he would make the cut for the active roster after training camp, but I'd say he's got a damn good shot at that. What would you think to have Lilja back in the fold? — I ain't saying, cause if I do someone's gonna get mad Last edited by Direckshun; 04-09-2013 at 02:22 PM.. |

no, he didn't.
Lilja has never sucked ass like some people around here have said. I imagine they want his veteran leadership at center ... especially if we go really young. Albert Schwartz Lilja Asamoah Stephenson or Albert Schwartz Lilja Asamoah Fisher or(really young) Fisher schwartz lilja Asamoah Stephenson |

last word on Dunta -- Reid said he's the starter opposite Flowers until somebody else takes the job away, as I recall. But let's face it, this team is geared to play nickel and Reid knows it -- they'll play a lot of nickel pkg using Smith on the larger WR's etc. The NFL is spreading defense out a lot now if the team has personnel to do it.
And look for the Chiefs offense to spread 'em out too. Alex Smith works better in spread offense because of his athleticism. Of course, he needs to know when to pull up and keep from getting hurt. Chase Daniel is a big spread offense guy too. Jamaal can run that ball from any formation you want to draw up, of course, so look for this offense to completely morph under Reid & Chilli. |
