Hasn't played in a very long time. He will be useless and out of shape for weeks. Maybe in the playoffs he will look decent. He needs 3 games before then.

I'll be nervous as hell if/when Berry steps back onto the field, just waiting for a play to end and see him on the ground holding his lower leg.

Guess the Chiefs thought Berry playing a full season would have aggravated his inj to the point he wouldn't have been able to play late in the season when he was needed most. Hopefully he's able to play at a high level at whatever pain level he's able to tolerate. Chiefs would be stupid to put him in there knowing he's only gonna be 75% when playoffs and HFA are on the line. I wonder if he wears a special shoe or something.
And Chiefs brass/Reid was ok w/ resting him, taking up the roster spot. What 53rd player is going to make more of a difference than Berry? We as fans hate it, but what we think doesn't matter. This is the way the Chiefs have handled it, it was the hush hush and uncertainty that drives everyone nuts. I think if the Chiefs just came out and said, "look this is what we're doing w/ Berry because of xyz", I think Chiefs fans would have been ok w/ that. I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but the Chiefs at the start of the season probably didn't see themselves shooting out of a cannon to start the season 5-0. Winning without Berry has allowed the Chiefs to buy as much time as possible, because they can and the end result they think, will be worth it. I just hope he can play at a high level and doesn't go down w/ another Achilles inj which would now put him out for entire next yr being that it's late into this yr. He'd be done as a player anyways should that happen. |

What if Clete Blakeman slashed his achilles Pet Semetary style back in August and Goodell is running interference to cover it up?

And the last thing you said is exactly why he hasn't played yet. He hasn't been needed, and yes it would probably be the end of his career, which is exactly why he isn't playing yet. It is a WHEN and not an IF in regards to his next rupture. I'm just hoping he gets to be part of a Super Bowl victory before it happens. |
