They can still infect others?

Also there are many cases of young people <40 years old with no pre-existing conditions getting sick, going on a vent and dying within 72 hours. We probably should figure out the why, what commonality do they share before we give the all clear.

Let's say we have already hit peak and the next few days we stay below 1000 deaths/day (this is not a prediction but a hypothetical). At what point do you ease restrictions on the extremely low risk people? We obviously can't shelter in place until a vaccine comes out. Do we wait until a treatment has been proven to be effective? Do we wait until a certain percentage of America has immunity? What is your metric?
Because inpatient hospitalizations are taking up to 8 days before people recover. If a huge # of people contract the virus in a short time frame and require this level of care, people are going to die because we cannot physically room and care for that many people.

Read the CDC's MMWR. The hospitalization rates are substantially higher than the flu, which will break the back of the system and the fatality rate is 0.1-0.2 for 25-44 and 0.5-0.8 for those 45-54 before they've run out of beds or equipment.

That is much higher than a bad flu season.

The only arrogant person in this conversation is the guy with no medical training that thinks he knows more about pharmacology, public health, virology, and epidemiology than world experts.

I think his point is more that why are we locking down the whole country for a CFR of .16% for anyone under 50? Do the lockdown by risk category instead.
