Never even heard of this but I got to try it. I am in a bit of a chili rut as I started the season too early and hasn't even snowed or gotten very cold for that matter.
Did you use lean ground beef? I would think 80% would render to much fat and pink slime. I think I will be tying this in the near future. |

Getting dusty up in herr. Couple thoughts:
The beef was 80/20, wouldn't go much leaner as you're leveraging the drippings Also, foil pans are the greatest gift to the outdoor cook. A dad bod's true best friend This chili was legit no doubt but I'm probably only good for it on special occasions. Its like the deep dish pizza of chilis. If you want to bust it out for some type of work chili comp once we're out of this nü-aids shit or if you got some loud mouth brother inlaw you want to shut down at the next gathering (family not the clown posse), then this chili technique should be in your toolbox |

I’m with srvy it’s gotta be right if I’m going to do a chili. It’s not a go to thing for me. But if I can find a rack like that I need to do it. |

I use round steak most of the time in my chili, I will be trying your technique with spare ribs before Christmas.

With my recent move, I'm back to a full kitchen with gas cooktop.
I bought about $400 worth of cookware and I'm ready to start again with my creations! |
