One of the true fans went off on me when I said every win now is a loss.

While I prefer the loss, I'll take any outcome where our players play really well and stay healthy.

They just scored 1 run in a series vs the hapless reds. Who have the worst FIP and worst fWAR.
Read that again. |

Two of the batters (Torres and Orlando) in the Royals line up from yesterday are batting below .200. Escobar is batting a whopping .216. And, Perez and Dozier are batting .230 and .239 respectively. That's five out of your nine batters batting .239 or worse. That's pretty bad.

Escobar and Orlando should've been let go over the winter, but, Dayton.

The Twins sent Miguel Sano to high A ball today. Brutal. He was hitting about .200 and his strikeout rate is astromonical. He hasn't played every day but over a 162 game season he'd be on pace to strike out nearly 300 times.

It's going to be interesting to see what the Royals do with the roster at the end of July.
Assuming Moose is traded, who becomes your every day 3rd baseman, Cuthbert or Dozier. Personally, I'd rather see Dozier if Duda is still on the roster. But, then, what do you do with Cuthbert. He's out of options so where does he fit? If Duda is not on the roster, I'd like to see Ryan O'Hearn get a shot at 1st. Still no place for Cuthbert. And the outfield, you have two of the four outfielders that should be let go (Almonte and Orlando). Bonifacio gets one spot but with Gordon, Soler, and Boni, you have no true center fielder. I'd say give Bubba Starling a shot but he's currently on the disabled list. With the middle infield, if Whit sticks around, I'd release Escobar and put Mondesi at short. If Whit is not around, you keep Escobar and Mondesi plays 2nd. The Royals will probably surprise us with some moves we'd never considered. |

Gmafb. You cut Escobar no matter what. He's been worthless for 3 straight years and now he's an old SS. Only a doofus would retain such a player |

Nicky Lopez is having a great year in AA. What position is he going to play at the major league level? How's his defense compared to Mondesi?
