50 Beers to Try Before You Die

Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).

http://www.wisdeo.com/articles/view_post/2984
(CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"?

How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

One day maybe the hype train will die and we will revert to the days of Cantillons sitting dusty on the shelf for months at Gomer's.
I get my haircut around the corner and was there last month and all these tents were in front of Freebird Burritos. I guess they were giving away 1 burrito a week for a year and people were camping out for it.

I figure there will be a few, but it won't be me.

I've already got to have some Cantillon special stuff this year. If people want to camp out for some small pours of beer, that's fine.

One of my friends did that when Freebirds opened in Lee's Summit last week. He had a tent and everything we needed. I briefly considered going in the middle of the night because there were still only 20 people in line. Then I decided it wasn't worth it.

I've been waiting for this day... picked up some Yeti oak-aged chocolate stout the other day (didn't see the espresso), so I'll have plenty of good beer for the weekend.

This was my first time trying it, having only recently started getting into stouts. I'm generally more of a hophead, but I am trying to expand my horizons.

Stouts will definitely expand your horizons. There are a lot of good ones out there right now. It's a dream to have the choices that we have here (at least in KC).

We opened a 2009 BCBS a couple of weeks ago and it was sooo mellow and delicious compared to the hot, boozy mess that is fresh BCBS.

Yeah, I'm running out in a bit to pick up a couple 4 packs. One for now and one for aging. I have to imagine it ages beautifully, even though I was thoroughly impressed with how well balanced the 15% abv was in this young guy.

Modus Hoperandi is one of my favorite, easy to obtain, session IPAs. Hoppy and delicious!

Seeing as they posted today on Facebook looking for wood to help with the construction of the inside space, I'd say they haven't opened yet.

The blog post says mid-December. Kind of an odd location... hope it does well though.
