Lynch looks worse than he did last year. Semen looks like the same "play it safe" QB.
Mahomes has looked better than both combined after 2 preseason games . |

The Chiefs are trying to make Mahomes look good by dumbing down the things they're asking him to execute. Denver isn't. |

1) The point of an offense is to help the offense and QB make plays. If you are running some different offense in pre-season, to make it difficult on your QB for some reason, that makes no sense. 2) How did the Chiefs dumb things down for Mahomes? I didn't see any change in play-calling between Alex Smith and Mahomes. If anything, it seemed like they let Mahomes throw the ball more, since they were done trying to get the #1's running work. |

Lynch is a first round pick and a huge swing and miss by the most overrated GM in sports history. Let's also not forget that the horsefaced goon drafted, wanted keep and promote Osweiler as the starter. Elway is striking out all over the place at QB. He also expected Sanchez to be the guy as well. |

And most those rollouts were Mahomes running for his life, and then making something happen. I can see how if you saw the highlights you would think that, but each one of those plays started in the pocket, and even Mahomes said he would like to stand in a clean pocket and throw it, but kept having to scramble. |

The Chiefs are running basic WCO principle plays and Mahomes is making multiple read plays for TD's. A simple basic crossing pattern had Demaryius Thomas wide open and Lynch can't even see him while virtually looking at the middle of the field Don't get mad bc Paxton is too stupid to play QB and Mahomes is succeeding. |

Maybe the Chiefs are dumbing things down for him in anticipation of him playing the Broncos

And I actually kind of like Mahomes and think he has some natural instincts to him. I'm just saying that KC isn't asking him to do a whole lot.

DENVER BRONCOS Garett Bolles, OT: The Broncos' top draft pick was expected to help shore up their O-line woes, but he contributed to the unit's struggles with three holding penalties and a false start in the first half. While most rookies need some time to acclimate to the speed of the pro game, Bolles' flag-happy play is a huge concern for Denver heading into the regular season. Grade: D Strike 2 on the 1's |

I am happy Trevor won the gig. He was clearly the better QB this offseason. So he doesn't have a monster arm but he can get the ball there and his placement is awesome.
Trevor hit Sunshine on that back shoulder throw while Sunshine was adjusting his route. Both guys were on the same page, something I have yet to see Lynch do with any WR. Trevor was doing great last year until the wheels fell off the cart. The OL was trash, RB's went down one after another and a street FA (who retired this offseason) came in and was markedly better. Our HC who was also the OC was in the hospital and Elway shut him down for a week. This alone was tough on the young QB's, John made Kubes give up the OC duties for his own health. Broncos also lost Wade for a game and then he had to call the next game from the booth. Trevor wasn't the only problem. Since they redesigned the Rookie payscale it doesn't hurt to miss or have to develop a 1st round pick for a couple years as you are not stuck paying a guy the top of the payscale for being a 1st round pick. Lynch is still a cheap option for another couple years, they can keep him to develop him unless the other 2 great picks John made push him off the roster. Speaking of the other 2 QB's John hit on Sloter, dude is smooth, can run the O, has a solid arm, great footwork and mechanics and works well in the pocket. I could see him being elevated to the 2nd QB job if he keeps playing well this PS. Kelly is an unknown but he has as much upside as Lynch, his pedigree is better but he is kind of a head case. I can't wait to see what he can do next TC. If John ends up moving or cutting Lynch it is only because he hit on a couple other lower round guys and they pushed him off the roster. Love that our OL was playing average to above average at times Sat. Trevor is going to have more time to push the ball downfield this year. Bolles had some flags but he did well otherwise, he is a rook after all and none of his flags hurt the drives. Throw in hitting a home run with Henderson and CJ back to full speed, if Charles flashes anything this week they are going to have a tough decision on cutting a good RB. |
