Gay does make sense. That would explain the signing of Tranquil. Nobody expected the Chiefs to sign a free agent linebacker with Gay, Bolton, and Chenal already in place. But if Gay was being traded, Tranquil would fill that spot.

I don't think they make the playoffs in 2015 without Maclin.

Yeah you're right. For some reason I was thinking Maclin got hurt earlier in the season.

No, it doesn't. The defense is finally supposed to be getting better. Don't trade away your talent that lessens that.

Why would the Cardinals want a one year player that they'd have to either sign to a deal or lose?

I agree we need to upgrade the WR room a bit, I'm just saying the floor with Andy and Mahomes and a bunch of scrubs would be 9 games. Andy's never won <9 with KC and even that was with Alex Smith and a bunch of scrubs.

At this point im going to assume, and am 110% ok with the idea, that the Chiefs are completely out on this and Hopkins will sign with some mostly irrelevant middling team.

Dhop has always been about the money. No reason to believe that's changed.

His list of desired QB's is just that; desires. He desires the bag more but no one asked him that.

The defense, in particular, the LB corps is better, on the verge of greatness.

And with Chenal drafted last season, who’s very similar in all respects to Gay, plus the addition of Tranquil, who again possesses many of the same capabilities, makes Gay, whose contract is coming due, obvious trade bait.

Just how it works.

That's where I'm at. It was fun to think about him in this offense but there are too many moving parts to get him in here and the OBJ contract ****ed up whatever trade we had worked out before the draft.

He'll sign with the Browns or Texans and everyone will talk about how that bumps up their chances at a championship...when in reality...it doesn't do shit.

Move forward with the guys we have and use their strengths.

9 Games isn't the floor.

The playoffs is the floor.

We just won the freakin' SB with one of the worst receiver rooms in the NFL.

I agree that Hopkins would be a welcomed addition. But the idea that we're going to lose 8-games because of this WR group is ludicrous.
