Let's talk about Harris's catch.
We have visual evidence he had control of the ball with two feet down.

If someone leans forward and puts the ball across the goal line, then gets it batted away by the defense before he's down, its still a TD.

Reid says he didn't think it was a catch, so he didn't challenge. Why not challenge anyway. Sometimes you get the call when you didn't think you had a chance.

The only way I can see thats not a catch is that stupid rule of controlling the ball when going to the ground.

I havent heard from anyone who knows the rules inside and out. Was this a case of not controlling the ball when going to the ground?

That's a good point...hard to tell if #28's hip prevented him from dropping it though. It looks like his had was slipping off the ball at the very last second.

I dont think they would have overturned it....

NFL rules have jumped the ****ing shark. Most of the time a receiver can body slam a defender and the defender will get called for interference, but for some reason they have turned "completing the catch" into some vague wasteland of referee interpretation.

And then they overturn the JETS touchdown ...

The outcome of games is determined by judgement calls far too often, and I'm convinced the NFL has done this on purpose.

If he would of came away with the ball sure. But the defender stopped him from having complete control of the ball before the 2nd foot. Then he lost it. No way was it a catch.

Disagree. He had two hands firmly on the ball, and was the only one touching the ball until he has two feet down. I can totally understand people saying this is not a catch under NFL rules, and having control with two feet down doesn't mean it's a catch, just saying he had control with two feet down.

Agreed...his elbow isn't competing for the ball, it's trying to knock the ball out of his hands which doesn't happen until well after possession.

All he had to do was fall forward towards the ball and he would have maintained possession. I think it's 50/50 if Andy challenges.
