There's some drama in Cincy
Looks like they're off to a rousing start to the year. |

The Bengals owner is that guy who goes out to eat but is too cheap to leave a tip.

Chase by the Bengals and Higgins by whoever gave up a 2nd (or two) to secure his rights. WTF are they doing? |

Chase has 2 years left on his deal. He's jumping the gun abut I like it because I don't like Cinci. Higgins problem is they won't pay him big and Chase big so he got tagged as one last ditch effort to keep the offense together for one final run at Mahomes. It will fail but that's the plan. Higgins is as good as gone in 25.

I don't think Higgins had a great claim for an extension after 3 years because he's a very good but not great player. Chase, OTOH, should be getting paid as soon as he's extension eligible. He's not asking them to rip up his 4th year on his rookie deal. Maybe (probably) not even his 5th year option. He just wants to secure the extension as quickly as he can. Which is what you're always gonna get (and always be willing to do) from a guy who is a cornerstone talent. Chase has HoF ability. Maybe he reaches that, maybe he doesn't, but the skill is there. That's a guy you extend as soon as league rules allow. |

Yeah I don’t like Chase but there’s no doubt he’s a top 5 WR, maybe top 3. He’s eligible to be paid and has all the leverage in the world.
Bengals are just a terribly ran organization at the ownership level. Very cheap |

Higgins has some injury concerns too, right?
That’s a guy that I love on a rookie deal, but let someone else pay. Really good numbers and production, but not elite numbers. Chase is a no brainer. |

Scared to go all in. Scared to trade a piece and possibly not be a contender. They are a proud above average team and no one will take that away from them!

"No," Tobin said about trading Higgins. "No, I'm not in the business of making other teams better. I'm in the business of making the Cincinnati Bengals better, and so trading Tee Higgins is not on my mind. That's their problem. They want a receiver? Go find your own, you know. In my opinion, Tee Higgins is a good piece for the Cincinnati Bengals. So the trade stuff is a little ridiculous right now." |
