Where does Simone Biles rank?

Where does Simone Biles rank among the best American athletes ever? She’s literally reset the bar for the entire sport. Mahomes level except she’s done it for over a decade and against the world. Who is better? She has multiple routines named after her. Largest margin of victory. She jumps like 12 feet over routine. The oldest to win the all around in 72 years. I don’t know how to do polls, but even if I did what choices would he in the poll? I have two daughters in gymnastics and they both want to be her (obviously not relevant to my question but it’s nice as a dad to see them strive to beat her).

She got the twisties. Think Knoblach’s yips but with the chance of catastrophic injury.

Mental health is no joke. All love for her getting right and coming back strong.

It's really more a loss of focus and not mental health. Mental health problems are when you think about killing yourself or thinking about killing others or otherwise depressed or too euphoric. Not being able to incredible acrobatics is not a lack of mental health. In fact most would say it's pretty healthy mentally to not want to do those things or otherwise engage in activities that could break your neck.

Lol, okay. So, a fear of heights is just a loss of focus, eh? Good to know.

Will someone come in the future who can match SB's skills? Certainly, but I don't see it happening soon.

Wayne Gretzky is probably the greatest, but Phelps, Biles and Jordan are probably right there. I don't know baseball well, so I'll defer to others on that. I think Ledecky has a shot, however, if she keeps it up for two or three more Olympics.
Americans are taking credit for Wayne Gretzky now? The guy is from a town in southwestern Ontario.

This isn’t really a commentary on the topic but this old gymnastics video popped up on my YouTube. This is hilarious and wild.

There is no doubt that right now Biles, medal-wise, is the best in the world. But no differently than the names above, someone in the next generation of gymnasts will eclipse her.
You’re “arguing” a different point. Will someone come along and break Biles records? Well, considering we have a few hundred million years before the sun turns out the lights, I would say that yes, someone at some point in time will break all the records by all the athletes we know. Expect for anything Mahomes does. But anyway. The point being debated was whether or not we (people) will forget Simone Biles. You listed the names of some great (basing it only on their Olympics, since I watch the same amount of gymnastics y’all do, which is to say one week every 4 years) gymnasts. I wasn’t born for Comaneci and was 8 and didn’t give a shit about the Olympics for MLR and I absolutely know who they are and what they’ve done. Gold medals, like championship flags, fly forever. Or something like that.
