I don't put ketchup on steak, but I'm also not weirdly religious in my objection. I don't want to eat steak anymore unless it's just superb, and in that case, I want to taste it.
I rarely eat steak, as I hit 35 and discovered it was harder for me to digest. I love beef, but I prefer slow cooked (roast, brisket, etc) or burgers. |

Poor dude didn't want to put ketchup on his steak in a restaurant and get a bunch of attention for it. That action ends up getting him 1000x more attention.
I bet his teammates are all over him about it. |

First....PMII can do whatever he wants.
As most have said, a good steak shouldn't need anything. However, the reality of the situation is that some steaks require sauce. A couple of my favorites are.... I realize only one of those is really "steak sauce", but the other two will also improve your situation if you have a less than perfect steak. And on the ranch...the bottled stuff won't do...it has to be the packaged and made stuff. Never ketchup. |

I look at this the same way I look at beer snobs.
Listen, I don't put ketchup on steaks. I have access to good meat and always have, but I season it the way I want and even a home grown steak that's been seasoned, if I want to put some A1 or H57 on it and you don't like it? Suck my balls. If we're out for a drink and you order the Autumnal Meade, and I order a Busch Light and you look at me judgingly...**** you. I'm a grown as man and I'll get what I want and eat how I want. If I want a dash of salt and some tomato juice in my beer or a handful of olives and you don't like that as you sip your coffee beer that looks like high mileage oil and you don't like it? Go eat a bag of Craft-dicks. #15....you do your thing, you fuzzy headed touchdown machine. |

The good news is, now he won't need to ask for ketchup anymore. Any self-respecting restaurant will bring him a bottle as soon as he sits down.
