I fully expect Reid to go with a "safe" pick with experience, because he wants to focus on the offense and have someone he can hand the D over to.

Would be good hire from all appearances.
If so, PLEASE let him make all the personnel decisions on defense! |

Does Spags have a attitude? Can he get in your face? The defense needs some attitude

"Thank God we got rid of Greg Robinson. Anybody is better than him and his sourpuss face on the sidelines. Gunther is gonna come in here and breath fire, send blitzes and round this entire team into shape. We need someone with some attitude!!!!" IT'S THE SAME. ****ING. THING. I mean to the damn letter. And again - nobody will ever in a million years argue that firing Robinson was the wrong move - of course it wasn't. But hiring that recycled half-wit Gunther to be the DC because he was 'fiery' and flamboyant and mostly just familiar was the problem. This is one of those 'winning the war and losing the peace' scenarios where everyone just assumes that achieving the first, most pressing and primary objective is good enough for a happily ever after. But it isn't - the second part is damn critical as well. And all we've done with Spagnuolo is Gunther 2.0. |

Somebody is going to pay the price for Ford, I'm just not sure it would be for a guy on a franchise tag. Let's see what new DC we get and decide if we want to pay him that kind of cash or we can use it on a couple of upgrades (and re-signings). We have to have a D that can stop the run.
