If they can't run it with whoever their third string back is, they're in deep doodoo... Shanahans O lives off play action

The 49ers haven’t even had to find out how to win when they can’t run this year.

Mason averaged 4.1 yards per carry in his least efficient game this year. All other games were between 5.0 and 8.1.

I believe so.

A lot of us liked their backup in the draft though.

Bolton has been a run-stopping animal and I think people are also underselling Chenal in the run defense and the addition of Connor as a starter.

Nah...you don't make top 3 in rushing with your 2nd string RB and a shitbird bad OL. Pass blocking, OTOH, has been inconsistent. But you're right on the DL. Too many injuries to overcome currently.

Mason practiced today. Hard to know whether he'll play. The jury is out on his backup, Guerendo. Fast and dangerous in the open field, but tentative in identifying and exploiting holes. Has played a bit soft, but perhaps playing behind Mason will change that. Mason hits the hole hard.

Yeah read a report about Mason being "day to day", so even if he plays he going to be limited and/or get injured even worse

Guerendo is a raw 4th rounder who has great combine numbers, including a 4.33 forty... but unless he's a completely pro ready late round rookie, he's a huge temporary downgrade for them, probably sucks at blocking etc

Ain't skeert

I would hate to play NFL RB with a shoulder injury.

That sounds miserable.
