*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****
IT ****ING HAPPENED
OP UPDATE: Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! Last edited by Dante84; 05-17-2017 at 09:40 AM.. |

The play was amazing by Kelce, but the Mahomes throw was impossible. Drifting to his right, hitting Kelce who was sprinting in the opposite direction. |

Scrambling TD against the 49ers in his home debut. Arrowhead lost their shit.

It also wasn’t a bad throw. It was just high enough above the first defender and just short enough to not be overthrown for the safety to pick it off. It was literally a perfect throw in an incredibly difficult situation. |

I just can't convince myself that he put that ****er right in that bucket on much more than a chuck and a prayer. And that Hopkins simply did a fantastic job adjusting to it. It's like getting Trey Smith in the 6th - I mean I'd love to say that's just fantastic scouting, but c'mon, even WE passed on him 4-5 times. It was a little bit of intelligence and a little bit of luck. Sometimes when something works TOO well, I can only think there's an element of luck to it. |

He was spinning around as he released it. It was incomplete but it had a chance, and it was perfectly thrown. Mahomes has this weird trait where his deep throws are seemingly MORE accurate when he's off platform or under pressure. |

Oh shit, I forgot about the one to Hardman against the Saints too. That was unreal.

That said, I believe Patrick has been more unlucky than his peer level QB's around the NFL the last couple years. I watch other games and it's crazy how often the other QB's seem to get away with bullshit plays. Joe Burrow got away with 3 turnover worthy plays last night. Seems like Josh Allen gets away with plenty of stuff. CJ Stroud as well. Lamar isn't perfect either. Even Mayfield seems to have better luck than Mahomes lately. |

One pass that we never talk about is the touchdown to Damien Williams early in the comeback against the Texans in the 2019 Super Bowl playoffs. Williams peeled out to the left and Mahomes put it right into his arm as he was running. He was running full speed and never broke stride.
