I thought it was a nice change from the normal bartee references. I was actually excited to have the fastest guy in the league on our team when we signed him

All this stuff takes time to work out. If CJ falls off a cliff and Sneed plays like an All-Pro it'll be rough. If Sneed's knee blows up and CJ balls out it'll look smart. I wasn't mad happy about the compensation at the time, and we'll see what we do with the pick. But right now I'm happy with the move.

If we have a problem this year it's the offense, and a combination of injuries you can't really help and sh***y OT play.

I wanted Sneed and to hold off on Creed because I value a 3peat above almost all else. Sneed AND Creed AND Jones could all be here this year.

I would be OK with not paying Sneed (as long as we allocated those resources still) but I hate hate paying a Center MORE than that instead. Yes it is instead because its money they could have used. You can structure deals and get crafty with it.

Not paying Sneed and investing in LT might be a better option for THIS year or maybe you could have did both. A great center in our offense is less valuable for us than almost any other team. You are paying a huge premium on a position that you don't even fully utilize.

Jaylen Watson has been a B+ CB2. Only time I remember him getting beat in 4 games was that long Burton pass vs the Bengals. Aside from that he’s been genuinely awesome. And Conner has done a really nice job on the blitzes Sneed did.

Anyone saying “we’ll keep Sneed 1 more year” doesn’t realize he’d hold out and I wouldn’t blame him for it. The kid is from a poor area in Louisiana, was an older rookie that was then 27, only made chump change as a 4th rd pick and has some knee issues.

His value was never gonna be better than last Spring. And no way was he risking injury to lose it all instead of a big payday.

We did the right thing. Trent is gonna make that money next Spring.

If it came down to Jones or Sneed, it had to be Jones every time. Sneed's a shutdown corner and one of the best, but Chris Jones is a generational game wrecker on every down.

I understand you're thinking, but that frankly what a bad franchise would do, push off contract extensions because you are pushing all in for one year. Its kind of what Buffalo did when they signed Von Miller. Then he got hurt and you're ****ed because your all in plan went to shit.

The caps is just as much about slotting contracts as it is dividing up money. The Chiefs didn't pay Sneed because it would have disrupted the flow of them slotting in major contracts over a span of years. Maybe its different if Jones didn't hold out last year, as that was a huge disruption. However, its easy to see what the Chiefs were doing the second they drafted McDuffie. When you have to pay guys like Mahomes, Jones, etc, you have to find areas (position groups) where you can save money. The Chiefs have done this on the Line (Creed, Smith, etc) and they have done it with DBs.

It's been beautifully orchestrated. And the worst thing you can do is disrupt that flow when its established. Sneed playing so well last season made a difficult decision even that much more difficult. However, what he was able to bring in the trade market frankly justified the decision the front office made. Don't create a problem you will be forced to solve later when you are set up pretty well to move on without that player.

Honestly, Watson has been solid. Who has impressed me is Chamarri Conner. Dude is a playmaker. Makes nothing, and the team has two more seasons of control after this year. And then there is Hick, oh and Watson and Williams have a mother year too. Amazing.

This is one of the worst takes I’ve seen on this board and that’s saying a lot. Oh, and I love Sneed and hated losing him.

Plus there is still Josh Williams, which I haven't seen much on the field this year and he was pretty good and they have to pay McDuffie, he's gonna cost more than Sneed probably.

Assnine comment. You have 2 great corners you do everything to keep them both. I believe the only reason they traded Sneed away was the knee. We will see how it works out. There was no doubt Seed was the best corner we had last year.

Not taking anything from Duff but if healthy he is the man.
