Never understood the "Give it to the player" crowd.

That's life altering money for the person that got that ball. Every day his life will change.

McGwire will put the ball on a shelf somewhere and notice it every few months (if he even displayed it at all after the steroid admission).

And ultimately, if he wanted it, he could have bid on it. Guy's made $75 million strictly in baseball salary, to say nothing of what he made from commercials, etc...

I was at game 6 NLCS when he was just about lights out. Poor Kershaw got his usual ass kicking by the Cards. Seems like decades ago...oh I guess it was a decade ago.
