An indelible image from 1994 when they shocked the #1 seed SuperSonics. Guy was so likable and incredible humanitarian. His laugh was infectious and he’s gonna be sorely missed. RIP big man.

Since they opened the doors, tens of thousands have been treated there, and who knows how many thousands of lives were saved. Truly a good Samaritan.

RIP, Dikembe.

I have a dumb story about him

A night with friends and drinking at someone's house we were playing trivial pursuit with a bunch of women and this guy, who was a good friend, gets super competitive about anything especially when drinking.

So he's really into it, the question comes up "Which NBA player is known for killing a lion with a spear in Africa?"

And I'm like, 90% sure it's Manute Bol and he's all like "NO, IT HAS TO BE MUTUMBO, HE LOOKS LIKE A BADASS THAT COULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT, MANUTE BOL IS SKINNY AND LOOKS WEAK THERE'S NO WAY"

so after 5 minutes of arguing about it we go with Mutumbo because it was teams or whatever and of course it was the wrong answer. It was Manute Bol. The rest of the night he's going on about how he's the smartest guy on the planet and he can't believe he was wrong but he'll listen to me about sports from now on.

Dumb story, but anytime Dikembe Mutumbo or Manute Bol gets brought up I think of that trivial pursuit game lol. RIP
