***MNF Week 1: New York Jets @ San Francisco 49ers***

Because I am oddly very excited for this one.

Can Rodgers make it through the game, much less look good?

Are the 49ers going to have another massive Super Bowl hangover?

Discuss over the water cooler.

He didn't play against those guys tonight. He was outplayed by Purdy and confused by the 9ers defense. He can throw his receivers under the bus but they can't come back to those shortarmed underthrows.

Tua with average receivers is not good.

Tua does not have average receivers.

A little controversy after the game as Mason said on TV he knew on Friday he'd be starting at RB. Shanahan denied that completely, of course. Mason was pretty upset during his postgame press conference for saying the wrong thing. Definitely has the gamblers and fantasy football players in an uproar.

Yeah, I'd be okay with Rodgers trying out the ultimate sensory deprivation tank by putting a shotgun in his mouth and painting the walls with his brains.

Too much?

Gambling and fantasy is big business for the NFL and they can’t allow the 49ers to **** with it like they just did.

Big fine is coming to them at a minimum.

Yeah Tua isn’t good in any respect, but he plays with Tyreek Hill so the numbers end up being there.

Yeah there's no way. It would be one of the most shocking turns in NFL history. He quit on the Jets and left them hanging and then sued them during the ownership change to Woody Johnson, who is still the owner.

Not to mention all the spygate stuff started with the Jets.

Belichick might be trying to get the NY Giants job, given his championship history with them in the 1980's. But I think he should be angling for the Buffalo job. The Giants don't have a quarterback.

I don't think this game tells us much. Are you going to say the Chiefs aren't very good if they lose in SF?

I've said from the beginning he should go for Buffalo. He can still build a defense. Even with horrible QB play the last couple years their defense was solid. He needs to go somewhere with established QB play. If he goes to the Giants there's going to be so much work to do.

We already know the Chiefs lose games in the regular season in a goofy manner and they end up a championship level team in the Playoffs. The Jets have not proven this. They do not get the benefit of the doubt, not when the media and their fanbase has been yelling from the rooftops for the last two years that they will win the Super Bowl if Rodgers can stay healthy.

They lost to one of the top 3 teams in the league, who just came off a major Super Bowl loss. SF at this point is not a great measuring stick for how they will end up. Outside a few games the rest of their schedule is pretty straight forward.

The Bills and Bengals have taken huge steps back to the pack. KC is the clear class of the AFC and then it's a considerable step down. At this point Houston, Buffalo, Cinci, and perhaps even the Jets are all one big glob of round 1 exit material logjammed together.
