The CB was not remotely in position for that to happen. At best it would've been a PBU. Fairly routine throw and catch. Solid play, but it's not moving the needle at all whatsoever for a top 15 pick.

Payton did what he has always done.

Panicked and overspent on an average (at best) talent at a “need position”. Similar to when he overspent on Taysum Hill. Lolol

The fun part is going to be Denver starting out something like 4-4 (against a bunch of teams without a real franchise QB) and watching the Denver fans come out with hope in their eyes.

Then the real part of the schedule happens and the team implodes over the following month. My money is on them winning 5-6 games. Just enough for Sean to get approval to pick a new GM and for them to go all in next offseason…screwing their cap for the next 5 years while trying to win with Nix.
