****Our Wide Receivers Suck- Official Thread****

They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

But you understand why he does that right?

So what if you change that to TE to skyy. Yeah you might catch skyy open a few times but you also have a ton of snaps where that option isn’t available. So ok, change that to Mvs… same scenario. Mahomes has options but he doesn’t have a go to where he has the confidence that if I progress here, I’m reasonably confident juju will be where I want him to be.

He needs a consistent option outside of kelce. When he does, he can use guys like Mvs the way they are intended. Not as a regular part of the progression but as a target when you immediately see something in the defense you can exploit

And maybe they are bad enough right now that our three GOATs can only do so much to protect them - Reid is scheming around them, mahomes doesn’t trust them, kelce is putting his body through the gauntlet because he feels like he has to get 50 targets for our offense to get any kind of rhythm. .

That’s the reality. I’m sure we’ll see plenty of excuses with clips of WRs getting open. That doesn’t matter. If a guy doesn’t get open 80% of the time of course mahomes will be reluctant to look his way and might miss the 20% where they’re opening up. On top of that, most of our guys aren’t on the same page as him - he’s thrown a lot of “errant” passes because our WRs don’t do simple things like flatten their routes or Mvs doesn’t attack the ball in the air or they don’t move where they should in scramble drill. These guys have to be very open for mahomes to want to throw to them. Mahomes doesn’t trust these guys. And either you’re gonna have games like last week where mahomes throws up Favre like passes or you have games like this where mahomes doesn’t want to risk throwing to them at all. Reid’s first quarter script for 3 straight games revolves around throwing to his TEs and RBs so he doesn’t trust these guys either.

It’s the WRs guys. Everyone but us can see it.
It's pretty amusing to see that much hyperbole follwed by the statement "That's the reality." That kind of hurts your credibility.

It's like you can't acknowledge that the Chiefs have a legit WR2 of the future, possibly even a WR1. That's not a "bandaid". That's a very important piece of the puzzle.
He is a long term solution but it doesn’t address the underlying issues with the rest of the room. We’ve got plenty to work with to help mask those issues for now. It’s not a panic because we’ll be fine. But we have to get better with our WR depth at some point

You're completely and utterly full of ****ing shit.

Finding a starting WR on a rookie deal doesn't address our WR issues?

Last night it was "if you take our Rice's receiving yards.." from Megatron. Now this nonsense from you.

JFC the WR cult has completely jumped the shark.

Mahomes doesn’t trust his WRs
Reid is consistently scripting his first quarters around everyone but our WRs
Kelce has shown signs of wear and tear and is still a big time target monster

None of this is hyperbole. You can interpret why however you like. But the above is reality.

I literally just posted a scripted play to Moore on our first drive that was wide open for an easy 8 yard gain at minimum on first down that Mahomes didn’t take even though he looked right at him. Go watch it and tell me that was anyone’s mistake but Mahomes.

He's not going to back off one bit. He has a full blown agenda, and everything that goes agaisnt thst and his narrative will be ignored/dismissed.

It was a half roll with a throwback to someone.

It looked like a half roll with a throwback to someone. I'd imagine Sky isn't really in the progression there.

Yup, the 'band-aid' comment says everything.

It's like if Rice developed into Justin Jefferson this year, his presence wouldn't actually elevate the potential of the entire offense according to this logic. It would just mask weakness elsewhere.

Like Tyreek Hill was a 'band-aid' for the poor play of Robinson and Pringle. It's patently absurd and continues to completely miss the point.

He's just so very desperate for that shiny offense during the halcyon days... Wins won't feel the same if they're built more on the back of the defense.

Yup, between the bandaid comment and him saying that Rice "doesn't address" the issue, he's proven that he's ****ing lost it and shouldn't be taken seriously.

We're not gonna have the Dolphins WR room.....unless they wanna just blast picks and money at it that is.

They'll keep adding to it here and there, but again, if you're wanting a top 5 WR room it's just not happening here.

Patrick also had guys open all night. On this one he has Rice wide open right in front of his face but held it and looked for Kelce instead. Fortunately that play worked but a lot of 3rd downs didn't bc he was force feeding Kelce.

Just take the easy play Patrick. That would have been a first down. Both DB's by Rice were backpedaling.

That play looks like it's designed to not hit Moore. Pat's first read was on the backside. I don't know if Pacheco was supposed to release or what but it doesn't look like Moore was supposed to be one of the first 2 or 3 reads on that play.

Yeah this is one he kept rolling out and threw back across the field eventually. He has both WRs right in front of him. He take whichever he likes right here based on where that outside DB is headed.
