Clerks’ Star Lisa Spoonauer Cause Of Death: Accidental Opioid Overdose
http://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/cele...bfcL&ocid=iehp
Clerks star Lisa Spoonauer, who died at the age of 44, accidentally overdosed on hydromorphone, an opioid, according to the Ocean County Medical Examiner in New Jersey. As reported, Spoonauer passed away in her New Jersey home in May. At the time, a 911 call was placed from her house, but she was no longer breathing when paramedics arrived. Hydromorphone, which is the generic form of Dilaudid, is used to treat pain. The drug has been known to affect one’s breathing and can be very addictive. Spoonauer’s death, says the medical examiner, was from an acute and chronic intravenous use of the drug. While presumably she injected the opioid, the medical examiner’s office refused to confirm that detail to Gossip Cop. In addition to using hydromorphone, Spoonauer was also fighting a myriad of illnesses, including cancer, immune deficiency, and lung disease. Of course, Spoonauer was known for playing Caitlin Bree in the movie Clerks. She also lent her voice to the character in the animated series, based on Kevin Smith’s cult film. The writer-director and Spoonauer met when he watched her in an acting class at Brookdale Community College in 1992 while casting the movie. Smith noted in a long Instagram tribute to Spoonauer after her death that when he observed her acting class, “Lisa was easily the most natural and authentic voice in the room. She didn’t sound like she was acting at all; she delivered scripted dialogue as if she was inventing her conversation in the moment, like people do in real life. Captivated, I approached Lisa cold in the parking lot.” |

Well if she was shooting it up, she clearly wasn't taking it as prescribed. You're playing a game of Russian roulette crushing up pills and then injecting them

Curious because we have an epidemic of overdoses in this country, why? Are they taking more than normal? Try a new dealers stuff and it's way stronger than they are use to? |

I'm really struggling to give a damn. Why is this on Chief's lounge and not the media forum?

Yeah I was a huge pill dependent/addict. Been clean for almost 3 years now. But let me tell ya, once you discover that damn dilaudid, nothing compares. It's hard to just go back to hydrocodone or even oxycodone after that shit. I'm lucky I got off that shit without losing everything or dying.

But the other questions you have I was also wondering about how the drugs are being obtained when they are being very restrictive from patients getting them. |

DEA shutting down the quasi-legal places to get drug fixes, so addicts are going to the shadow market to get drug fixes. The shadow market contains drugs of unknown quality and unknown ingredients with which they were cut so the drugs are much more dangerous. |

I feel bad for the people she left behind. Too bad she couldn't get help. Sounds like she was dealing with cancer and pain.
