They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

If this continues I do think we'll bring in a vet. I'm not sure Claypool's a difference maker, Theilan would've been great here! Evans would be fantastic and went down with a hamstring issue so maybe he finally does become available, Denver might be ready to unload but probably not sending anyone our way, you know Adams isn't happy with the Raiders but he's too expensive, Marquise Brown still feels most realistic on a 1-yr rental to me.

Glad we won, curious how things develop with our WR group.
THIS, is a solid take IMO.

The #1 and #2 WR are MVS and Watson. These guys are pure down field speed guys guys. They can’t create separation and having them both on the field at the same time for the majority of games is killing the offense. If the other young receivers aren’t picking up the nuances of the offensive scheme to get playing time then fix the scheme to accommodate them because all of them are far superior talent wise than those two.

Maybe with Burrow being hurt and Higgins only having one good game this year, we can get Higgins cheaper this off-season than we would have before this season

There is a line between patience and acceptance. Yeah these guys are young and capable of growing. But we also have a lot of information by now.

- skyy looks limited. Can still play a role but Probably need to dial back snaps
- Toney is electric but by now we know he can’t be relied on for heavy usage
- Mvs is always going to be a 2-3 target a game guy with a few exceptions. Which is fine but is that a guy you want in on majority of snaps
- Watson is good depth but games like this show his limits. He’s a guy the offense opens up but less use when the defense can neutralize without selling out
- rashee is our best hope to backfill juju. And that’s sorely missing. In half of the games juju got 8+ targets. Who does that for us now?
- speaking of kelce, he can only do so much. There are defenses that can neutralize him with less help. Defenses like NE, LAC, Tennessee have done it. Now without a juju option it makes it even easier to sell out to stop kelce. He opens up so much of the offense and good WRs should be able to exploit it

By now we have good info on who Mvs, Watson, Toney are. We’re probably getting close to accepting who skyy is too. Our patience and optimism is that rice progresses so we’re back to square 1 vs last year. I don’t think that solves some real issues but it gives us a real good shot in a year where defense is king and we have a good one ourselves.

No it wasn't. Rosenhaus outright said the Chiefs came back with an offer right before finalizing the trade to Miami that had Hill seriously considering staying here.

Edit: well, thought he had but I can't find it so probably wrong.

Jets defense wanted this one bad. We don't play a defense as good as theirs the rest of the year. They are the best in the league in my book.

They're the veterans, who have the full offense down. As the games go on, the youngsters should get more and more snaps and targets. We're seeing Rice get more every week, for example.

We declined to score 30 on an excellent defense on a night when Mahomes threw two really poor INT's.

No, it's not clicking consistently yet, but it's also not as far off as people are making it out to be.

I understand they are veterans who have the playbook down. You know who was a veteran but had the playbook down, and the defense sucked because of this line of thinking? Dan Sorenson.

If the young but way more talented WRs can't get this offense down, then maybe the offense needs to be tweaked to fit the players better. Spags dumbed down the defense last year to help the young players, so maybe it's time for Andy to do the same thing here.

It's ****ing with Mahomes head too.

Maybe so, I don't necessarily disagree. We're also 3-1, with a defense we can lean on a lot more than in past years.

Guys.....it's the QB.

I'm as big of a Mahomes guy as anyone, but the whole "he has to trust them thing" needs to die. He needs to not lock on to certain reads and be decisive and throw the football. The whole "hold on to it and run around" shit just needs to end. You can't run an efficient offense that way.

The first quarter, when he's being confident and throwing the ball on time, guys are open. Yet later when he's holding on to it it's because guys aren't open?

Nah.

Other dudes across the league are standing in and throwing the football to guys. Our guy should do that too.

Toney needs to get WAY more snaps and targets, which I'm sure he will as (if) he gets healthy.

I know it's blasphemy to doubt Reid or Mahomes but it's true. Sean Mcvay wouldn't be accused of having a simple as far as I'm aware. Stafford lost his top target for at least a part of the season with Kupp and a nobody rookie by the name of Puka Nacua, a 5th rd pick, is on the fastest pace for a WR in NFL history with 501 yards.

Getting tired of hearing "Mahomes doesn't trust so and so yet". Get if ****ing figured out.

Mahomes wants to run around and do the fancy things instead of throwing the ball on time to the WR's who may not have 3 yards of separation.

Calm down. Jets defense is elite as hell and we don't have much invested in studs at WR and that will have to change next year. Gonna have to open the wallet a little more..

Imo, he doesnt want to run around, he feels that has to in order to buy time with the hope that the WR's can get open.
