*****Official 2024 Royals Season Repository Thread*****

Year Two of the Matt Quatraro tenure. Time to take a step up this year. Active in free agency and trades this offseason. A new look pitching rotation and bullpen. Will the young players take the leap up offensively? Bobby Witt extension? New stadium? Will Vinny recover from injury? Salvy taking aim at the Royals record book? Will Cole Ragans turn into the best Royals starting pitcher since Greinke 1.0?

Free Agents/Trades Acquisitions
Seth Lugo, SP
Michael Wacha, SP
Kyle Wright, SP
Hunter Renfroe, OF/DH
Will Smith, RP
Chris Stratton, RP
Nick Anderson, RP
Adam Frazier, 2B
Garrett Hampson, INF/OF
Matt Sauer, RP

A issue they have with the roster is that MJ is playing better but much of that is because they finally stopped playing him against lefties. And I’m fine with platooning him, but then you run into the issue of Isbel also being terrible against lefties. You can’t keep two “starting” outfielders who both can’t play against lefties. It’s kind of compounded because two of the guys we could really use to help the outfield in the next year or two are Cross and Cags, both lefties. Cross is pretty bad against them so far in his career. So they have some decision making to do around the roster in the off season which will be interesting to watch.

Hootie called his shot on Moose for the 15 season in a way that’s seldom been replicated on here, Fanduel, and online bb’s everywhere.

Hopefully that’s a catalyst to propel them forward. Especially McArthur whose issues I believe to be mostly mental/lack of confidence.

Most likely an anomaly. But it was solid work agains the top team in the division. And it appears the Royals are catching the Indiuardians at the right moment.

Hell of a job last night and I certainly hope so!

But, honestly, I think what we saw last night says a LOT more about where Cleveland is right now that it does our bullpen. They're reeling . . . . . BAD. They just seem mentally beat down right now (which is great for us!)

Unless something dramatic changes, I'd say the division will come down to us and Minnesota. We're gonna have to beat them next week. Got 6 straight at home against Cleveland then Twins.

Fun times to be a Royals fan again!

Yessir. The much maligned bullpen won this games and the offense delivered too. It takes a lot of pressure off when the fellas hit.

Stephen Vogt’s face in the press conference last night was very similar to the mug he wore just after the Royals snatched the WC game away from the A’s on 09/30/2014

Cleveland has always had the look of a team that would falter. They seemed like a team that would get to the playoffs and get swept.

Interested in why you say this? I don't follow other teams close enough to know why Cleveland appears to be built on a house of cards and has fallen apart.

Their starting rotation has been patchwork all year. Their bullpen is lights-out, but heavy usage is wearing it down. Except for Clase, who is an alien.
