my old man drank a case of beer a day, every day of his life. I never knew him when he wasn’t drinking like that. I’ve drank too much at times but those were in individual nights. I’ve not been drunk as in legally drunk in over 8 years or so but still have a drink or two watching the game.
Was your dad a large man? I ask because where I grew up my best friends dad would go camping with his family and another family. Both men would each drink a case to two cases of beer each day for 3-5 days in a row. Both were 6’-2” 300lbs plus. Was amazing to visit their campsite and see so many beer cans.

I live it a "dry" county, but municipalities have finally realized the lost revenue isn't worth the pearl clutching. State Line Avenue is lined with liquor and c-stores selling beer on the Arkansas side, so it's pretty much a losing battle. Hell, there's an entire town just south of here that only exists so they could sell beer and liquor.

When I lived in Fairview, KS back when I was a professional drinker I hated having to go the extra mile or two into KC MO to get real alcohol on Sundays.
I would stock up on handles of Buffalo Trace or cases of Boulevard in advance of the weekend.
Dry counties only create an inconvenience. Real drinkers will find a way.

Cheers to You! I've decided to take a year off from it myself (starting last November), and honestly, I don't really miss it that much once I got out of the routine of drinking. (Especially when you realize how much money you're saving by not blowing it at the bar and liquor store).

Good for Pat Mahomes I. I like to say I’m counting decades now of non-drinking (11 years).

Yeah I figure so far I've saved $39,000 in a little more than six years by not drinking.
