There was a point when you could push the pocket back into him very quickly. But the OL protection has cleaned up, as has his mobility.

Answer 1. Ideally you wanna score fast and give him the ball a lot. The more opportunities you give him to get hit or throw a pick the better. Hes a wild gunslinger who makes poor decisions just let him self destruct.
Answer 2. The rams gave the blue print in mexico city make him throw 80 times a game and wear his arm out. |

Well it is a Shanahan, it seems his Dad wasn't opposed to having lip readers in the stands, spraying jerseys, etc, etc. So we know that as a family they are not above cheating.

There isn't a scheme alive that a secondary can employ to stop Mahomes. The only realistic way to stop him is pressure, and disciplined pressure, so that he can't escape the pocket.
If you can't do that on defense, other than fooling him once in awhile, it's basically over. |

Honestly, unless Pat gets injured, or his receivers continually drop balls, you aren’t stopping him. I’m not puffing out my chest. He’s just that good and in the ****ing zone right now, and I don’t see anything other than the above changing that.

Cover the medium and short, hope he's off on the deep balls.
That's what NE did, and they are the only team to slow him for a half. |

Only 2 ways:
1. Ball control. Keep him on the sidelines and limit his opportunities and hope when he does get them, the offense is out of sync (O-Line, dropped passes, etc.). 2. Massive amount of injuries to offensive personnel. So, basically, you CAN'T stop Mahomes, you just hope he isn't playing with a full deck or his team shoots itself in the foot with mistakes . . . . . |
