"All-star" officiating crew for Rams-Chiefs game
NFL ups intensity with all-star officials for Rams-Chiefs game
Kevin Seifert ESPN.com NFL Nation The NFL took the unusual step this week of assigning an "all-star" officiating crew to the most highly anticipated game of the season, adding to the playofflike frenzy for Monday night's matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams. Referee Clete Blakeman will work the game with only two members of his regular crew, umpire Ramon George and down judge Dana McKenzie. The other five officials -- including Jim Lapetina, who will handle replay -- were plucked from four other crews. The approach is similar to how the NFL assigns officials to playoff games, a process that is based on performance and seniority rather than crew. But it is rarely, if ever, employed before the postseason. Officials typically work on the same eight-person crews throughout the regular season to maximize continuity and familiarity among members. Individual crew members are occasionally juggled for health or scheduling reasons. But a series of actions this season have indicated the league is moving away from the consistent crew concept, in favor of a more aggressive administration of officiating. Earlier this season, the league bounced down judge Hugo Cruz among four crews before ultimately making him its first-ever official to be fired for performance during the season. NFL spokesman Michael Signora confirmed Sunday that "there is a rotation amongst the crews throughout the season." Signora did not provide details on the decision to overhaul Blakeman's crew for Monday night's game. An officiating source said Sunday that the five officials added to Monday night's crew are all highly respected and have performed well this season. The Chiefs-Rams game, originally scheduled to be played in Mexico City before it was relocated to Los Angeles, is a rare matchup. Since 1970, there have been only four other games pitting teams with one or fewer losses this late in the season. And according to the Elias Sports Bureau, this is the latest matchup ever between two teams averaging at least 33 points per game. The following is the full crew for Monday night's game, as listed on the official flip card published by the NFL, with the officials' permanent referee in parentheses: Referee: Clete Blakeman Umpire: Ramon George (Blakeman) Down judge: Dana McKenzie (Blakeman) Line judge: Rusty Baynes (John Hussey) Field judge: Dale Shaw (Jerome Boger) Side judge: Brad Freeman (Clay Martin) Back judge: Tony Steratore (Boger) Replay: Jim Lapetina (Brad Allen) http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...ff-rams-chiefs |

Here is the false start on a Rams TD play...all-star crew?
https://twitter.com/AllbrightNFL/sta...ew-all-star%2F I mean they throw 9 flags on KC in the first 7 minutes, some extremely ticky-tack...but dont notice something as glaring as this? How do you miss that? There is no other conclusion but this was deliberate. Meh, no big deal. Just 7 points on a 3rd down in a 3 point win. Last edited by BlackOp; 11-20-2018 at 12:57 AM.. |

When they were replaying that "touchdown" afterwards, they wouldn't start at the beginning of the play. They'd only show it after Goff started running. Everyone knew that it was a gimme for the Rams.

So far KC's 2 losses...NE had 0 penalty yards...and this one, they just made up a bunch of shit to start and ignored crucial ones. At this point..coupled with what they tried to do in the Chargers game, yesterday...I'm distancing myself from any SB aspirations for 2018. The NFL hand picked this crew...and they are getting roasted on twitter. Now the NFL will apologize and say keeping crews together is a better idea...while getting exactly what they wanted. I dont want another PO loss that is dictated by the refs...I'd rather not even watch. The NFL has spoken...and KC isn't part of their plans. Last edited by BlackOp; 11-20-2018 at 01:06 AM.. |

I used to think you were an entertaining rambler(I don't even mean that in a bad way), after tonight I'm 100% on board with you. This shit's rigged at least to some extent. I do think KC will be in line to receive beneficial rigging one day soon. But not today and not this season |

"All-star" officiating crew for Rams-Chiefs game
The Chiefs have demonstrated an ability to overcome these atrocious calls against them. I suspect the calls against us will become ever more blatant to ensure the desired outcome is achieved.
I think that’s why tonight’s game was so terrible on the first drive and persisted throughout, especially with false starts not being called. They couldn’t leave it up to the Rams and as long as the announcers don’t say anything the average fan with no rooting interest will ever know or suspect anything. |

God damn, if that was the all stars then I'd hate to see what the B-team looks like.

The NFL is like any other soul-less corporation. Their end game is continuous growth of their product...ethics has nothing to do with it. They have 2 new teams in a new 20 million person city vs. KC in a 2 million person market. Advertising is how the make their money...not ticket sales or merchandise. Promoting KC, even with Mahomes, is counter intuitive to their financial ends...at least right now. It why they moved the Raider to Vegas...that stadium will 60% foreigners on vacation getting a chance to see a NFL game. International market without being international...yet. |

Count me in too. This shit is too creepily obvious to be a conspiracy anymore. It’s like ****ing wrestling. When they assembled this “All-Star” officiating crew we all should’ve known what the league was ****ing doing. There was no way in hell LA was losing this game. The NFL had their minds set on that.

Can anyone remember a KC opponent getting brutalized by the officials like we witnessed in the first 7 minutes...in a national game? It was surreal...I was contemplating if I was imagining it and the game hadn't actually started yet. |
