Yup, I'm not sure of anybody who didn't give up on him before the WS run. I know I did.
Enjoy retirement, Hooch. thanks for the World Series game! |

The STL beat writer(Goold) said in a chat session yesterday that the Royals have contacted Matheny about "some" role within the Royals organization.
Free advice for my friends in here, get the pitchforks out if your Royals bring in Meathead to coach at any level. |

If the Royals bring in Matheny in any on-field capacity, will flip me completely on Moore. Some combination of Cuthbert, Dozier, O’Hearn and Schwindel. Last edited by duncan_idaho; 08-14-2018 at 08:11 AM.. |

Matheny was ****ing terrible, man, as the Cardinals manager. He was handed the keys to a Lamborghini and drove it into a series of light poles until daddy finally took the keys away and told him he wasn’t paying for repairs anymore. |

Do you mean Moore? Cause the way you said that makes you sound like a blind homer so I don't think that's what you meant.

Sure enough did. Edited. There is no defense for hiring Matheny in an on-field role, unless it’s with a Little League team. The 2011 Cardinals won the World Series. Matheny took over that team, which had several prime years left of Adam Wainwright, an excellent farm system (that ascended to #1 in Baseball before his first year), a plethora of homegrown pitching , and tremendous resources. It absolutely was a great situation, and they won a ton of games in spite of him. Over time, his stubbornness, his playing of favorites within his bible study group, and his general reputation made it a far less attractive destination for FAs while also making it a tough place for young players to succeed. |
