That's like...half the guys on this team. Regular season is too boring.

Dave picked Butker off of the Carolina practice squad.
He picked Tommy.
We’ve had some incredible returns in big moments and given up almost none.
We’ve converted fakes.
We’ve prevented fakes in huge moments.

Minus a few overly aggressive stupid return decisions, and the few-too-many times he trusted Skyy, I’m cool with it.

People lost their goddamn minds over last year. To be fair, I was also a little flabbergasted that Andy was fine with Toub teaching his guys to constantly take that shit out of the end zone on kickoffs all for a lottery ticket chance at returning one all the way. We cleaned that shit right the **** up when we acquired legit actual competent kick returners, and look at us this year. Back to a top 5 STs unit.

Moral of the story: When trying to figure out if a coach is good or not, don't ask average NFL fans.

100%. This applies to “scouting” players as well. As a matter of fact, just within our little group here we have a microcosm of this. You can always tell the one guy guaranteed to bust in camp based on how much high praise he receives here. That Prince running back dude being that guy this year.

Eh. People can see guys play. They can't see coaches coach. All they have is gametime decisions. It's the only grade they can look at on the report card, and they foolishly mark the coach as an F. I think that's different than fans who try to make guesses about the final 53 roster.

And it's not just fans who crown these guys' asses out of training camp only to see them get cut. It's buzz that gets put out by the Chiefs own social media team and its online reports. Mitch Holthus talked up Prince a bunch. The Chiefs Twatter posted videos and fun little social bits of Prince with the rest of the RBs -- notice how they didn't follow around Jerome Carvin or ****ing Ty Fryfogle. It's typically those reporters/people who tell fans to watch a certain player, and that gets people excited and asking questions and jumping to conclusions like, "Prince > Clyde!!!!!!"

I'm old enough to remember Chief Fans BOOING Tony Gonzalez during his second season for his drops, routes, etc. Fans literally wanted him gone. Fortunately, the coaching staff was nowhere NEAR that stupid.
