McKinnon - Likely done for the year

Quote:
Jerick McKinnon Update

Jerick McKinnon made an appearance in the locker room on Tuesday, and while the classic McKinnon smile remained in place, don’t expect the speedy running back to make a quick return to the field.

McKinnon was on crutches Tuesday in his first day back at the facility since undergoing surgery Jan. 2. Dr. Williams Meyers, who specializes in core muscle injuries, performed the surgery in Philadelphia. In addition to a “sports hernia,” McKinnon also suffered a fractured pelvis that required repair.

That makes it doubtful McKinnon can return this season. The 31-year-old is eligible for free agency this offseason but has expressed an interest in returning to Kansas City.

Sounds remarkably similar to the Hardman situation last year.

31 years old and fractured pelvis as a backup RB probably means he's done in the NFL let alone as a Chief unfortunately.

Every single college game I watch, I am looking for a "Jet McKinnon" type of back.

I feel like if his career started now, when what he does best is really what the NFL needs from the RB position now, he would be a true marquee NFL player.

The bell cow running backs are not really a thing anymore. And a back that can be successful out of the back field, but also be very effective in the passing game, is (or should be) a huge part of our offense.

This.

He'll be dirt cheap and he's our 3rd tackle. Mahomes will need the help if we don't get any better at finding a LT...

Take a look at Cody Schrader. He's expected to go in the 6th. He would be a great fit here

Austin Ekeler is an UFA… doesn’t seem like he’s committed to returning to LA

Ekeler has too many miles on his body and he will be wanting high dollars on top of that.

RB's I think the Chiefs can find its the quality WR's that will come with a cost.

Fractured pelvis?

Guessing maybe one of those avulsion fractures where the tendon/ligament pulls and takes some bone with it?
