What are your Prime Day purchases?
It is the offseason. I am just curious what everyone is wanting or getting from Amazon since today and tomorrow are Prime Days where members get an extra discount.

What is a Prime day? Related to Pride day. Maybe Prime cuts of beef day, interest rate day? I'm flummoxed.

I got: a samsung watch a garage fan a pickaxe a wedge pillow to hopefully help my snoring a big 96 inch ceiling fan for my patio 2 tubs of creatine that will last me a year 2 tubs of citrulline that will last me a year a mop and wringer a big push squeegee for the garage floor a new floor jack because I'm tired of repairing the stupid piston |

It's for digging to find the sprinkler valves in my back yard. I have a wire signal locator, but there is a point where the wire goes too deep under the ground and the signal finder doesn't work anymore. So I'm going to have to start digging where the signal ends, but right now the ground is too hard for a shovel. |

I know generally where it is because I drew a map over a land survey when they were installed, and I've tracked the wire up to a tee point. I'll be dealing with maybe a 5x5 area, so I should be alright. I'm pretty confident I can find the others too. If I get desperate enough I'll try the dowsing rod thing. |

Not sure about a wedge pillow but I bought a wedge mattress for under our normal mattress about 2 months ago. It seems to help. If your pillow doesn't do the trick, you might think about trying the mattress elevator option. I have a doorbell story from this past week.
My doorbell broke a while back, and it made me sad. It was a recordable doorbell, so I could put different song clips on it. I'd installed it back when I remodeled my kitchen in 2007, so it had a long life. I wanted another recordable doorbell, and my wife didn't want a video doorbell, and I couldn't find anything at all. Everything these days is either a video doorbell or it's a basic ding-dong doorbell. Eventually I gave up and started looking for vintage doorbells, because I thought it would be cool to match up the doorbell with the past era of the house. I was talking via email to a guy who sells refurbished vintage doorbells, and I mentioned my sadness about not finding a recordable one. He emailed back and said, "I see one on ebay" and sent me the link. It was the exact same model that I own, new in the box from 17 years ago. Exactly the same. So I bought a brand-new 17 year-old doorbell and I'll just replace the broken one verbatim. I'm kind of shocked that I can't find a new version, though. With my old one (and now my new one), I have to climb up a stepladder balancing a laptop on one hand because it has to be hard-wired via a 12-inch wire to upload songs. A little wifi would be nice. |
