Sinus infection anyone?
Lots of sneezes at school but I think mine is self inflicted. I dove int a pool Saturday and apparently inhaled half the water into my sinuses and ears. Now I have yellow snot for days and am weak. I use a navage 3 times a day which helps but this crap ain’t goin away. Came home from school today to weak to teach shop.
Any ideas? |

Saline spray for nostrils.
Make sure at night you are hydrated. I haven't had one since my move to AZ. I had 1-2 a year for about 20-25 years. I got them the most in the fall in NJ with the crunching of leaves on the golf course. Also the pollen in the spring. The post nasal drip and squishy ears and pain around the eye sockets are the worst. |

get them all the time unfortunately. enough to where I've considered sinus surgery.
As mentioned - saline spray (though the gel seems to work better for me). Sinus rinse (netti) Sudafed (the kind you have to sign for) helps open up your ears/nose/breathing |

I talked to several that had it and not one of them said it was worth it. Most had little to no improvements and a few it was even worse after. |

Go to the doctor, have him prescribe a Z-pack. You'll be fine in a few days, whereas a sinus infection can linger for weeks if left untreated.

My strongest suggestion, stay away from nasal spray.
I'm 100% addicted, and the rebound affect is terrible, causes acute sinusitis over time. I can't breath unless I hit the spray every few hours now. Sucks! |

The hell are you doing, man? It specifically says right on the bottle not to exceed the recommended dosage or it can make symptoms worse. Use as directed, and it will do exactly what it's intended to do. You are abusing it and blaming it on the spray.

I did that to myself right after I got out of college. Basically, the doctor prescribed nasicort and ibuprofen to eliminate as much inflamation as possible and I just had to ride it out for a couple of weeks. Now I only use Afrin if I'm super stuffed and I only use it once per day and never ever use it 2 days in a row. |

Use a neti pot and only spray one side for a few days to let the other heal.
