Guessing she had a couple local wing joints willing to pay 50 cents on the dollar or one big super bowl party could be either.

After thinking about this.. Is he really just helping the school district recoup the 1.5 million they lost instead of helping her out?? That’s a lot of money out of a budget..

seems more plausable. But the above seems to indicate to get her out of jail. Not sure how that would work if the Judge gave her 9 years...I doubt there is away to buy your way out of that.

That's how nfl players go broke. Giving away over a million dollars for this? I realize he has a lot of money but he doesn't have an endless amount. Many have gone bust with a lot more than he has.

It was 1.5 million dollars of tax payer money. Defrauding the government typically pisses the government off.

It's not even that. She didn't turn anyone else in, and they said they don't know where the wings actually went. To pull this off, she almost certainly needed the help of multiple people and many, many restaurants. The math comes out to 19 cases a day, which is absurd. You aren't selling that many wings to Dave's Dive Bar down the street.

The people investigating are far more interested in the organization behind all of this and who bought the stolen goods which, if you didn't know, is also wildly illegal. Restaurants can't just buy food from random people off the street. So the prosecutor dumped other charges on top to try and get her to give up the more important people but she refused to budge. That's why she got charged with being the head of a criminal enterprise. I'm sure that charge would go away if she said who was actually in charge, but without anyone else then I guess she must be the kingpin behind it.
