Reerun knows how to fly the uber rich guys.
I flew a few rich guys, and banged my head against the wall as an instructor for years. I still fly for a company from time to time, but don't instruct any more due to a lack of time and it doesn't pay for shit. |

CFI (certified flight instructor) cost is $60/hr. Don't know what the school/CFI split is, but that is not much in CFI's pocket. |

I have been thinking about buying a Twin Comanche or a 250/260 Comanche. I don't need a lot in the dash, but a wing leveler and altitude hold would be nice.
We have a 3rd kid on the way, so I might have to step up to a larger plane. The 3rd row seating is a joke. |

They are fast for the fuel burn, and with tip tanks you can go a long way. Cirrus 20's and 22's are $$$$$. For that money I can step up to a turbo charged Bonanza (which I have seriously considered) with O2, 6 seats and still have a nice dash, and for the G3 price I can get into a Turbine Bonanza and smoke everyone. I have around 5000 hours, for me I just want to get to where I want to go quickly without crushing the bank account. I also want to be able to resale easily and get my money back. I wouldn't mind a twin to build time for my retirement job. |

Does the cirrus parachute capability factor into your purchase decision? Knowing you would have a safety chute to protect your family a variable? Or is it a marketing gimmick?? |

There have been times when I was flying over terrain in which there was nowhere to land. None. A chute might have worked. I have had two engine failures, one partial that went full in a Lance, and a partial in a Cherokee 6. The Lance happened at night, north of Clarendon, Tx over rough terrain. I barely made it back to the runway, and a chute might have saved my life if the engine failed completely earlier during the glide in. The 6 happened by Lyons, Ks.,during the daytime, and we landed when we heard a "pinging" noise from the engine. It ended up being a broken crankshaft. We were on our way back from OJC (Johnson County) in thick IFR, had just exited IFR when the sound started. |
