Babylon 5

Ended 20 years ago, but now, much to my surprise, streaming on Prime. So for anyone who hasn't seen it, now's the time.

Syfy.com did a pretty good write-up of what to watch and what to skip (there's a LOT of bad, especially early and then the final season on TNT...): http://www.syfy.com/syfywire/the-qui...t-of-babylon-5

It'll be fun to see how it holds up 20 years later.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm actually watching some of the old episodes now.

I'm sure the younger generation would whine about the dated CGI, but I don't have a problem with it. This was a great show.

I tied to get through the first season many years ago having heard it gets much better after the first season. How long does the early rough patch last since that’s a lot of total episodes days?

Boxleitner takes over the lead at the beginning of the second season. It immediately gets better.

Of course, that’s also the point where the plot shifts from mostly random episodes to a continuous arc and really takes off, so you can’t really blame the original actor for that.

I still think the first season is worth watching, though.

The fifth season, not so much.

Which is sad considering what Michael OHare was going through during season 1

Yeah, I know.

Ironically, the episodes I watched earlier tonight were the 2-parter where Sinclair comes back.

I have said many times. Best sci Fi made once season 2 thru 4 happen.

If you can get by the slow season 1 and CGI, you will be blessed by the story and characters for the next three.
Special effects are top notch also.
